What Kylie Minogue and Iran Have in Common When It Comes to Gay Asylum

Homosexuella som inte kan vara öppna med sin läggning utan att förföljas i sina hemländer, har rätt till att få asyl i Storbritannien, beslöt brittiska Högsta domstolen på onsdagen.
Männen, som misshandlats i sina hemländer, hade tidigare nekats asyl med hänvisning till att de kunde undvika förföljelser genom vara diskreta med sin läggning. Detta avvisades alltså av HD.

It’s even more unusual for a pop star to be cited in a legal opinion by a high court. But Britain’s Supreme Court used Kylie Minogue as a cheeky example of why people should be afforded the right to live as openly as they can.
”Just as male heterosexuals are free to enjoy themselves playing rugby, drinking beer and talking about girls with their mates, so male homosexuals are to be free to enjoy themselves, going to Kylie concerts, drinking exotically coloured cocktails and talking about boys with their straight female mates,” the Court said.

Att prideparaden i Helsingfors blev attackerad av stenåldersmän är bara att beklaga.
Att israeliska och iranska homosexuella kan komma överens förklarar det mesta.
Homofilerna visar som vanligt vägen.

The Israeli delegation arrived by special invitation from the city of Cologne. As they marched carrying Israeli flags alongside the rainbow flags, Iranians joined them carrying Iranian flags from the Shah period, before the Islamic Revolution.
One Iranian said he was forced to flee Iran just a month ago after he was identified by the authorities as a gay activist and persecuted.
Steiner, who coordinates gay pride events in Tel Aviv, said that ”one of them asked me why Israel can’t be a refuge for Iranian gays who are persecuted by the regime. I told him the situation is not black-and-white, and that Iran is a hostile state and it’s forbidden for its citizens to enter Israel.”
Yaniv Weizman from Tel Aviv municipality said, ”The participation of Tel Aviv representatives is an excellent opportunity to show tens of thousands of participants the beautiful face of Israel, tolerant and open, and Tel Aviv as one of the most fascinating cities in the world today for gay tourists.”
